Welcome to Microfinance Monday:  The “Sound of Freedom” Edition!

Microfinance Programs Address the Root Causes of Child Sex Trafficking

My wife Kathy and I recently saw the powerful and moving film, “Sound of Freedom” which draws attention to the evil and terrible problem of child sex trafficking.  The opening scene, shot in Tegucigalpa Honduras,  shows a poor and desperate father being tricked into giving his children to child traffickers.  Sadly, Honduras, which is ground zero for CareLink operations, is an attractive target for these criminals because of the country’s extreme poverty, lack of opportunity, and desperate fractured families.

CareLink microfinance programs seek to remedy these issues by providing hope to families in the form of microfinance capital, training, and spiritual support.

"Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.”
