Welcome to Philanthropy Friday!  Introducing “Miss Jay”

Did you know God is the inventor of the business plan?

I am not kidding….check out today’s video

Hi friends!  We don’t just provide capital, we help people achieve their dreams by working with them to transform their vision into reality with a solid business plan.  Yesterday, I received a business plan from an incredible woman named “Miss Jay”.  So, you know what a business plan is…but did you know God is the inventor of the business plan?  More on that later.  Now about Miss Jay….

Miss Jay is the owner of a little convenience store in Hope Creek Village, just south of Belize City in Belize.  Recently, Miss Jay was the recipient of some amazing good fortune, as the brand new Inter-Coastal Highway opened up directly in front of her store. This new highway will bring more tourists, locals, and fishermen to her business daily. Recognizing this as an outstanding opportunity, Miss Jay made plans to expand her little store so she could capitalize on this amazing development.  She did her homework on how she could increase the size of her store, purchase more inventory, and buy a new ice-making machine that would help her meet demand.  Expanding her store would propel her from mere survival to thriving.  Miss Jay became aware of our organization, and we helped her create a solid business plan.  Now, equipped with opportunity, vision, and a plan, she was ready to go!

Miss Jay, however, still lacks one thing…access to funding.  Entrepreneurs in developing countries are almost always locked-out of traditional lending options, and excessive interest rates are simply too steep for most small businesses. That’s the gap that microfinance can fill.   We are hoping to fund Miss Jay with a $4,000. loan.

And Miss Jay, like so many of the Christian entrepreneurs we help, is a giver.  She is actively involved in Kids Konnect, a local non-profit that provides education and support for disadvantaged local youth.  Expanding Miss Jay’s business = more profits, and that means more help for her local community - and for the children that so desperately need help.

Want proof that God is the inventor of the Business Plan?   Check out Proverbs 16:9.  In their hearts people make plans, but the Lord directs their steps.

Will you help us turn people’s plans into businesses that can have a huge positive impact on their communities?
