Two Christian entrepreneurs partner to address the global unsafe water crisis.

Naperville, IL. - Rick Fessler, CEO of Vidl, a socially-conscious water bottle company, and Jeffrey Hartman, President of Thirsty Child, a faith-based non-profit focused on the global unsafe water crisis, have announced a partnership to provide safe water to the extremely poor in the developing world.

“Most people don’t know that over 700 million people lack access to clean, safe water”, according to Hartman, “and a child dies every two minutes from illnesses related to this crisis. Those of us with the awareness and means to address this issue have a moral mandate to do so.” Thirsty Child, with their global strategic partners, including the CareLink Foundation, provides water filter solutions, community wells, and water sanitation systems in the Third World.

Vidl leverages their cleverly-named high-end water bottle as a means for people to remind others that they “are absolutely important, essential, and treasured.” “Our goal is to remind one million people before the end of 2025 that they are loved and vital.” Said Fessler. Vidl’s bottle purchasing process is unique and highly personalized. Visitors to their website - wishing to remind others they are vital - are able to select a personalized bottle color, colored base, and lid design specifically chosen for the recipient, including an engraved message or logo. “Our partnership with Thirsty Child will help us deliver this important message and touch people literally all over the world,” Fessler added.

Under the terms of the agreement, Thirsty Child will receive a portion of the profits from all Vidl water bottles sold. Both Fessler and Hartman speak of their faith as a driving force for the creation of this partnership.

An important component of the deal will be providing parents with tools for engaging their children in raising money to help the Thirsty Child cause. “Getting our children interested in philanthropy is critical to the future of our civilization”, said Hartman. “Our new partnership will provide parents with resources for motivating their children to become involved in raising money for an important issue that young people can really relate to. We will encourage our customers to inspire their kids to host lemonade stands and engage in other fun fundraising activities,” added Fessler.
